Storylines Europe: A New Celebration of European Literature Comes to Dublin Saturday 22 November 2025 | Europe House, Dublin

EUNIC Ireland is delighted to announce the launch of Storylines Europe, a new annual celebration of European literature, translation, and ideas taking place on Saturday, 22 November 2025 at Europe House, Dublin. Presented in cooperation with the European Parliament Liaison Office in Ireland and supported by participating embassies and cultural institutes, the festival brings together authors and translators from nine European countries for a day of lively discussion, creative exchange, and cross-cultural dialogue.

Through a series of thought-provoking conversations, Storylines Europe explores the stories that connect us — from the personal to the political, the intimate to the universal — revealing the diverse voices shaping Europe’s literary landscape today:

Roots and Histories – Graphic novelist Joonas Sildre (Estonia) captures the creative struggle of composer Arvo Pärt under Soviet rule, while acclaimed Polish writer Mikołaj Łoziński (My Name is Stramer) revisits family and memory in pre-war Poland.

Writing Across Borders – Award-winning Translator Antonia Lloyd-Jones, best known for her work with Nobel Laureate Olga Tokarczuk and outstanding promoter of Polish literature abroad, joins Luxembourgish author Anne-Marie Reuter (M for Amnesia) to discuss language, imagination, and translation across cultures.

Intimate Geographies – French novelist Nolwenn Le Blevennec (Friends and Lovers) and Spanish writer, journalist, and documentary filmmaker from Barcelona Anna Pazos (Killing the Nerve) explore friendship, belonging, and modern womanhood in a world in flux.

Untold Stories – Hungarian-born Csilla Toldy (Bed Table Door) and Italian author Maddalena Vaglio Tanet (Untold Stories, shortlisted for the Strega Prize) unravel identity, exile, and loss in Europe’s shifting landscapes.

The Language We Inherit – Celebrated Welsh poet Menna Elfyn (Parch) and award-winning Irish Poet (The Other Now: New and Selected Poems) reflects on poetry as a bridge between generations, cultures, and tongues.

The festival also includes author meet & greet sessions and book signings, giving audiences a chance to engage directly with the writers. For more information visit storylineseurope.ie
